July 4th Quartet

Heavy Surf

We've had heavy surf warnings for a few days due to a storm

thousands of miles away. After Charlie got home from work,

we headed out to the beach to check it out. The waves

weren't as high as I thought they'd be, but it was

still awesome to watch and the sound was loud.

Our 4th... watermelon face!

I haven't posted in over a week. I am finding I just can't always do a pic a day and my camera was in the shop also...I'm enjoying others though.

Although there are a few venues for fireworks around the county, none are convenient and all are crowded. So this is how we experience 4th of July fireworks at the Barrett house.

. ice cold ibc cream soda . i like drinking it from the bottle .

. on our way to ladies bible study at the prison . sunny day, top down, chatting it up with a great friend (she wasn't on the phone long) . wonderful, wonderful time of refreshment .

. ps . if you know her don't tell her her photo is on here, she'd kill me .

Our only granddaughter lives in Virginia Beach, VA

and this is a surprise gift box I'm putting

together for her.

In the spirit of this 4th of July I took some pictures of a few of my Americana decorations in my kitchen. I hope everyone is enjoying this Independence Day!! I was able to spend the afternoon with my soldier brother who will be leaving for his 3rd tour soon.

Don't forget to thank a soldier!!

My new cousins, Elana(1lb 6oz) & Elissa Graber(2lbs 3oz). It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, babies the size of barbie dolls. Please continue to pray for them as every day is a struggle at this point. ♥

Fabric Fun

doll quilts for our church-sponsored preschool.

Jeff took me on a date last week...when we came out of Target...we saw three deer in the field by the parking lot..IN town! The field is in between two stores...seemed an odd place to see deer!

Yellow Roses

Our Pastor's daughter had a lovely day for an outdoor wedding. Her favorite color is yellow and this was the centerpiece at our table.

My little helpers!

So I counted up that I am 15 days behind. I'm not sure how I got that far behind other than to say that I missed a couple of days and it snowballed. I am bound and determined to catch up this week so you will be seeing a lot of me :) This past week was a gorgeous week with lots of time spent outdoors catching up. These cuties were my little helpers!
